Planning Applications

Planning applications are submitted to Buckinghamshre Council’s planning department and once validated these are sent to Parish Councils for consultation. Other agencies are also consulted – e.g. Highways, Environment, Heritage. Once all consultations are received and analysed it is up to Bucks Planning to determine whether or not an application is to be approved or refused. Decisions can only be judged against planning laws and guidelines – in a heirarchy starting at the top with the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and moving down to more local policies, such as the saved (retained) policies of the Aylesbury Vale District Local Plan and any “made” neighbourhood plans . If a decision is disputed the applicant may appeal to the Planning Inspectorate which then makes a recommendation to the Secretary of State.

The saved AVDLP policies will be replaced by the Vale of Aylesbury Local Plan (VALP) when it is made.

Applications and decisions made by the Aylesbury Vale Area Planning Department can be found on the Aylesbury Vale Area planning portal where they are listed by month and week by Parish. Applications can also be searched in detail by entering the application number or address. Members of the public may also make comments via the planning portal.

Planning applications within Drayton Parslow parish are placed on the Parish Council meeting agenda and any decisions by the Council are minuted and submitted to the planning portal by the Clerk.
